Parsha Eikev

This week, Rabbi Miriam is speaking from Camp Unity in Borehamwood, where children from different faiths and backgrounds are spending the week together. Introducing this week's 90-second video sermon on Parashat Eikev, she reflects:

"90 seconds of Torah and community from a field near Borehamwood, with Tim, the legendary chef at Camp Unity.

This week's parasha, Ekev, beautifully says that a human does not live on bread alone - לֹ֣א עַל־הַלֶּ֤חֶם לְבַדּוֹ֙ יִחְיֶ֣ה הָֽאָדָ֔ם

So what do we live on?

For Tim, who happens to also be the nephew of Borehamwood's beloved late Father Domenic, lovingly made food is just one part of how these kids - from different faiths and backgrounds - come together, along with play, friendship and building resilience out in the woods.

From my perspective as a camp mum, Tim does no less than produce miraculous manna from nothing, in the wilderness."
