"It was sobering to meet the son of a hostage this Chanukah, and the niece of another. Their lives are suspended with worry and fear, and driven by campaigning." Rabbi Miriam Lorie.
This week Rabbi Miriam was hosted by @jlic_tlv for a light filled chanukah gathering for hostages families.
Watch her thoughts here:
She continues:
"As always, we see Torah through the prism of life and life through the prism of Torah. Our parasha's tear-filled reunion between Joseph, his brothers, and his father makes me yearn for a similar story for so many today. Real people's lives have been torn apart this year - many tens of thousands of them."
And ends with the following wish:
"May 2025 sees lasting peace because things have really hit rock bottom, a safe return of the hostages, rebuilding in Gaza, healing everywhere, and a focus on the human beings behind the headlines."
