From Hieroglyphics to Emojis: Children's Activity

“Tell your child on that day, saying, ‘Because of this God acted for me when I came out of Egypt’” (Shemot 13:8).

So, that's the mitzvah, and across time, that story has been told in many ways. Through careful commentary and discussion. Through the symbols on the seder plate. Through re-enactment, costumes, and song. Each generation finds its own language for retelling what happened, and for helping children feel that they, too, were part of it.

For a bit of fun, here is the Pesach story told entirely in emojis.

Hand it to them and see what they make of it. They may well read it more fluently than you do. It is a simple way to spark curiosity, invite questions, and give your children another way into the story.
