This week Miriam Lorie is joing by Rabbi Oliver Joseph in his beautiful sukkah to talk Torah.
This weekend we read "Vezot haBracha", the final parasha in the whole Torah. The third verse will be familiar to many: "Torah tziva lana Moshe" "Moses commanded us in the Torah" - which of course we'll sing enthusiastically on Simchat Torah too. This verse, which the Shulchan Aruch teaches is the first verse we should teach a child sounds so simple but is so axiomatic. And as Rabbi Oliver teaches, the "lanu" makes it all about unity, which is so perfect for this time of year. The unity of Jews all over sitting in sukkot, finishing one Torah cycle and starting another. May these aspects and so much more keep us unified across divides.
