Building Committee Members
Our building project is about more than construction. It is about creating a space that reflects how we live, gather, and grow as a community.
What you would be part of:
Working with trustees and contractors on the redevelopment project, likely taking on a specific role within the team
Reviewing design choices, layout, and community needs
Liaising with professionals involved in the build
Helping plan and phase works
Supporting communication with the wider community
What you gain:
A direct role in shaping the physical future of Kehillat Nashira
Insight into real-world building and project development processes
The chance to leave a lasting mark on a space many people will use
Experience in collaborative decision-making at scale
This is a hands-on, practical role for people who like thinking things through and seeing ideas take physical shape.
Building Diarist
With our building renovation beginning in weeks, this role is for a diary-writer to document progress and communicate it to the community.
What you would be part of
Taking photos and writing updates regularly - ideally weekly - throughout the renovation
A collaborative effort with lay leaders, staff, and volunteers during an exciting period of change
Bringing the building process to life for the wider community
What you’d gain
Experience in storytelling, content creation, and community communications
A unique behind-the-scenes view of a major community project
The opportunity to shape how this milestone is remembered and shared
A flexible, creative voluntary role with visible impact
Fundraising & Community Events Team
While our Trustees and Rabbi are busy fundraising beyond our community, THIS role is about our community's own grassroots funding. This small team will create an event as part of a last-push campaign with the goal of funding the new roof on our building.
What you would be part of:
Planning a community fundraising event around the building
Helping communicate the need in a clear and accessible way
Supporting delivery of the event
Encouraging wider participation across the community
What you gain:
Space to be creative and try ideas out
Experience in event planning and community engagement
A chance to help shape how the community comes together around a shared goal
Direct impact on the sustainability and growth of Kehillat Nashira
You'll get to point at the roof and say "we did that"
This role suits people who enjoy bringing others together and making things happen.

This is about building something together, not doing it alone.
