We are honoured to have been part of the minyan since the very beginning. We come along to that first meeting, where we all sat in a living room and discussed whether something like this could work in Borehamwood. Although we were all excited, we had no idea what the minyan would become.
I had my first ever Aliyah at our first service. I practiced for weeks and tried not to let my nerves get the better of me. But when it came to it, I felt so empowered and included in the service, in a way I had never before.
Over the years we have been lucky enough to mark our major life milestones with the minyan. We had our aufruf at Nashira and it was amazing to be able to share what we had contributed to building with all of our friends and family.
This year we had our first baby and felt so moved to be able to celebrate his arrival at the minyan too.
Happy 10th anniversary, Kehillat Nashira - here’s to many, many
more years and growing from strength to strength.
