9.45am - Hot drinks and kiddush
10am - “Songs of Jewish pain from Tanakh until today” withShuki Hartuv, an Israel tour guide who moved with his family from Tel Aviv to Borehamwood this month due to the war. Originally from Canada, Shuki made aliyah in 2011 to Kibbutz Saad (6km from Gaza), served in the Paratroopers, and worked in the fields on the kibbutz.
Shuki has put together a playlist for you all to listen to either before/after the session. קושי של מלחמה
11am - “Friendship across borders: the experience of Israeli and Palestinian peacebuilders” with Dr Lindsay Simmonds, A Researcher at the Religion and Global Society Unit at the London School of Economics (LSE), UK, where her research focuses on Women of Faith and Peacebuilding. Lindsay is also a Fellow at the London School of Jewish Studies (LSJS) and a graduate of the LSJS Susie Bradfield Women Educators’ fellowships. Lindsay is co-chair of her local Jewish-Moslem Women’s Network, Co-Chair for the Abraham Initatives UK and Jewish Scholar-in-Residence for the Council of Christians and Jews (CCJ).
