Chasidic approaches to prayer
1) "Achieving meaningful prayer; how the Chasidic masters sung to God"
Meaningful prayer is an art that requires much practice and self-discipline. With proper preparation and the right mindset one can experience truly uplifting prayer. The nineteenth century Chassidic masters devoted much of their writings to this important subject.
Rabbi Dr Naftali Brawer led us in an exploration of these original works, making them relevant to our contemporary experience.
In addition to studying these texts we also learnt a nigunim (uplifting musical tune) for Lecha Dodi, the audio of which can be heard HERE (the first 5minutes only)

Rabbi Brawer's second shiur in his series on Chasidic approaches to prayer. This time we looked at how to prepare adequately for prayer. And as last time Rabbi Brawer will taught us a niggun to incorporate into the service.
